Internet Marketing: How to Monetize Your Blog
There are lots of ways to monetize your blog, and all of them are quite simple. Google offers you perhaps the simplest that is available on your blogger.com blog. At the bottom of your dashboard (when you sign in to your blog), there is a section labeled Tools and Resources and you would choose the AdSense hyperlink to sign up for free advertising to display on your site. You will earn a few cents to a few dollars for ads that are clicked on from your blog. A word of caution: NEVER click on your own ads or have somebody else click on them like crazy because Google could ban you … FOR LIFE! Just put them on there and if people are interested, they will click. I know that I sometimes will see something on a site that interests me and click. Heck, that it how I got started in the whole internet marketing venture.
You don’t have to use Google if you don’t want to. Simply do an Internet search for PPC (pay per click) advertising and your site may qualify for them. Currently enough money is made from the advertising to pay for my internet connection. Just don’t make your blog a virtual marketplace for advertising: You want to provide information for your visitors first. Revenue comes later.

Internet Marketing: Tag, You’re It!
Now that you have your second post available, you can do a little bit more to help your effort. On the right side of your creation page for your posts, there are tools that will help you: the Tags category and the Categories category. This will be a way to help sort your blogs when you have a number of them accumulated. Not everybody uses these, but this is more for your convenience. Right now, I have over 150 posts to my blog about eliminating credit card debt called moneyformylife. Since I have quite a few there, as the blogs get written, they are tagged and categorized so that it is organized more for me.
Now, for your Wordpress blog, it should now be set up to automatically ping your posts every time that you post to the Wordpress blog on your own site. Your blogger.com site, however, is not. Don’t get lazy and forget to ping that one because it is not set up to do it for you. You want to have the search engines find your site, and pinging your blog is one of the easiest ways to get that to happen.
Remember, traffic = $$. Tomorrow, we will look at ways to monetize your blogs.

Internet Marketing: Now That You Have An Original & Unique Article…Post It!!!
Now that you have an article that you have re-written to be more than 40% unique and original (by using dupecop) you can take your short article and post it to your blog on your web site. Make sure that you “ping” your blog so that search engines will know that you are out there and that you exist. Make sure also that you have key words and key word phrases in your article so that the search engines will pick your post up and set it higher in the rankings. You want to be on the first page of search engine results so that you can get more traffic to your web site (and eventually more cash into your pocket).
You can, of course link to an affiliate web site in your post, but that will be a discussion that I will save for tomorrow. Remember that you can always post any questions that you have on this to the website and I will get to them as I am able.
Have a GREAT day!!
Internet Marketing: Making Sure You Have Original, Unique Content
When you have to rewrite Private Label Rights articles, you want to make sure that you are 40% original on your rewrite or the article will be rejected by the search engines, particularly Google. “How do I do that?” you may ask. There are no calculators for you to break out. You will need two things.
You first need to make use of Word pad or Microsoft Word because you are going to cut and paste the original article. I suggest using to documents at the same time so that you can toggle between the original and your rewritten one. Open up a browser window and go to your online thesaurus that we looked at yesterday. Replace words and rewrite phrases. Select a section that will end up being between 250 and 500 words long when complete.
Now open up another Web browser and go to dupecop.com. Here you will find a link to the duplicate content checker. Here you will be able to cut and paste the original article and you re-written article. Dupecop will check them against each other.
REMEMBER YOUR GOAL IS 40% UNIQUE, ORIGINAL CONTENT!
You may find that you have to re-write the article a few times, but after a while you will get used to it. One way to avoid that, of course, it to write all of your material from scratch. You will find that it is actually easier than it sounds, particularly once you get into the habit of writing things everyday.

Internet Marketing - The Use of a Thesaurus
Okay, so now you have a Private Label Rights (PLR) article and you want to change it enough so that you have unique, original content. It sounds really difficult, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easier and easier. First click here and get an online thesaurus. What a thesaurus does is find a word that has similar meaning to the one that you have. In years past, I would pull out the Roget’s Thesaurus to find words, but online is much simpler.
For example: car. Other words for a car include words like automobile, ride, clunker (if it is junky), carriage, horseless buggy, wheels, … you get the idea. In a sentence, the original could be “I drove my car to work”. Use the thesaurus and it could have the same basic idea, but sound completely different. “I maneuvered my clunker down the busy road to get to my daily grind of a job.” That certainly sounds different than the original, and it makes the statement more original and much more descriptive.
Make sure that you are changing at least 40% of the content so that it can be considered as original, unique content by search engines. Tomorrow we will look at ways to check to see how original your re-write can be. After a while, you will get to the point to where you no longer need to check as often as you will get a feel for what you are doing.

Internet Marketing: Using A Private Label Rights Article As a Basis For Your Blog Post
You have to alter it enough to make it unique, original content: You cannot just copy and paste it and put it on your blog post. Why? When Google looks at it, if your post is exactly like another post out there, it will not index your post, and believe me, you want to have your blog post indexed by Google. That way, when people search phrases out there, you will have your blog displayed in their search results.
Imagine that you went to a store to find throw pillows for your couch. The sales person brings out five pillows. You ask if there are more. The salesperson scoops up the original five pillows, goes to the back room and emerges with the same five pillows. The salesperson gives them different names. You are not amused. The same thing goes for Google. It will not waste it’s time and yours bringing you duplicate results.
You will need to take a paragraph or two and re-write them so that they will have content that is deemed unique and original. “How much is that?” you ask. Typically, the answer is 40%. You could take the sentence “throw the ball” and re-write it to say “grasp the baseball and hurl it with as much force as you can muster”. Same basic concept, but the second one is a little more descriptive and is not the same.
I avoid this on my blog by writing everything on that site from scratch. That way, I know that it is unique.

Internet Marketing: Finding An Article Directory of “Private Label Rights” Articles
Some of you may be a little fearful of writing items for your blog because you fear running out of ideas, not writing good sentences, etc. If you happen to be in that boat, perhaps one of the best sources for articles and such is through private label rights articles. What “private label rights” means is that once you purchase an article or the writing, you can do anything that you would like to with that article: you could re-write the article, you could sell it, you could give it away, break it up into smaller pieces for use in blog post. The choice is yours.
The way to find PLR articles (as they are called in this industry), you simply do a search on Google and you will find millions of results. You will find a wealth of information out there that you can use in your blogs. I have been fortunate in that I have read a lot in my life and have no difficulty in coming up with information or articles to write. I have even written one e-book and there are several more floating around in my head for the future.
We will cover the details in future articles.

Internet Marketing: Pinging Your Blogger.com Blog
You need to “ping” your blog. This is just a simple way of telling the world about your blog. I like using the site Ping-O-Matic. Your Wordpress blog already has a ping list set up, but your blogger.com blog does not. This may seem intimidating and scary, but it is relatively simple to set up and use.
You will need your blog URL, which you should already have saved on a file, but it you don’t log into your blog and click on the View Blog link. Notice the URL at the top of the page and copy it. You will put in the name of your blog, and the URL for the home page of your blog. Then, select the services that you want to ping your blog, and then Send Pings.
It is that simple.
Have a GREAT Day!!
Internet Marketing: The Use of a FREE Blog!
We have talked about setting up a blog on your own website, but there is another, free, service available to you. It is at blogger.com. The blog can be set up in three simple steps, but it is free. There is no cost involved. I personally have 7 blogs set up through blogger.com, but only a handful are updated on a daily basis.
You will need a web site title or what you want the title of your web site to be. At blogger.com, the website address will end in blogspot.com. Blogger.com is where you set up your account, but the location of the blog (which is short for web log) will be xxxxx.blogspot.com. Once you enter your information, you can then create your first post. It can be something simple such as “Welcome to my blog about [whatever you choose your blog to be about]“.
You will then click publish (please use the spell-check feature because even the best of us make mistakes, and mistakes will often make people not want to return) and Viola! You are now pulished on the world wide web.
I have kept today simple because I do realize that this is a Monday and sometimes it is difficult to get going in full gear early in the week!
Have a GREAT day!
Internet Marketing: Writing Your First Post To Your Blog, part II
The other half of writing your first post to your blog is to add a picture. You may not want to do this step and that is completely up to you. Underneath the title section of your post, there is a tool par that says Upload/Insert. Move your mouse over the icons, and you will see that you can upload and image, video, audio, or media. These items can add excitement to your blog and make them “sticky” or people will “stick” around longer. The longer that they are on your site, the better the chance is that they will come back. For example, I can add the image of the book that I have written just below this paragraph. That would make my blog to be more interesting.
Now, this image can be a picture of you, a picture related to the subject of your blog. If you don’t have any good images, you can go out to Google and search for royalty free images. The possibilities are endless.
All you have to do now is to spell check your post (there is an icon that will spell check for you) and then save it. You want to save it in the event that you have a computer crash before you can publish, or post you writing to your Wordpress blog on your web site.
